LIVIN’ THE LIFE

Another week another email! Hola everyone!

Met a guy named Nelson who owned a churro shop (we HAD to buy churros to have thr opportunity to talk to himtough life lol) but anyways he was really interested so we referred him to the other sisters because he doesn't live in our sector, and we found out the next day they put him on date for baptism. bruh. He could have been my first baptism but oh well, im sooo happy for him!

Had a lesson with a lady that i mentioned in my last email, Marlene, and as soon as we mentioned how God Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost aren't the same person she literally started fighting us on it and we had to be patient and ended basically saying that we know what we teach is true and we respect her beliefs! This is what most people say here, that those 3 are the same person and im like uhhh nope but i respect your beliefs!

Visited with an inactive member in the middle of nowhere. literally a town we hadn't even heard of haha, we had to climb down a mountain and encounter stray dogs and a huge pig just to get across a bridge to the small town. We finished the lesson and it was like those ghost towns in the movies where theres like a tumbleweed that goes across the road lol, legit we had to walk for foreverrr to find a main road with a bus but esta bien we survived

For pday today our whole district went to the fancy mall in downtown Quito and woww its a bit richy there haha i felt like i was in a mall Salt Lake City or California. But we went bowling and the elders let me choose where we ate because of my cumpleano haha and we got a knock-off brand of Chick-fil-a and pizza hut! It was so fun to have a change of scenery for a sec! There's pics in my photos!

STORYTIME:
On thursday we had a second lesson with a family we've been teaching and WOWW holy cow i cant even describe it. We talked about baptism and the dad is inactive and the wife and daughter aren't members. Legitamately the entire time, i felt angels in the room. The spirit was INCREDIBLE! There were moments in the lesson when i had no idea what to say but the spirit guided every word i said and brought things to my head that i hadn't even thought to say. We had the husband say the closing prayer and the second he started it, both me and him started crying because the spirit was so overwhelming. They were so kind and offered us bread and tea afterwards even tho they dont have a lot. Guess what...THEY CAME TO CHURCH WOOOOHOOOOO!!! They loved it so so much! Literally best birthday present was seeing them walk into the chapelmy heart was so happy! Anyways where they live is a bit sketchy but we walked for a couple minutes to the main road to grab a taxi and there was absolutely zero taxis. We were just sittin there like uhhh hopefully we dont get robbed and hopefully we make it back to our house soon bc it was 9:15THEN literally the second we prayed, a taxi pulled up and we walked in to our apartment AT EXACTLY 9:30!!! The Lord was watching over us that night what a miracle!

Passed my two month mark being a missionary! Love the mission so so much already! There have been a couple days here in the field where im really hard on myself with the language because i want to help with the lessons so bad and sometimes i wont have a CLUE what to say because im so focused on what everyone else is saying but the gift of tongues helps me every time! Doesn't mean everything im saying is right lol and i know that because sometimes they give me a look like uhhh what is she trying to say but when im down abt not being able to speak well, my companions always cheer me up and tell me that whenever i talk, the spirit is so strong and Hermana Huamandraime even said my countenance changes? Like when i testify, something is different abt me, not exactly sure what that meant but she meant well haha

Hope you all have an amazing week!

Love you all!
