We Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet!
TODAY MARKS THE 100TH BIRTHDAY OF OUR BELOVED PROPHET PRESIDENT NELSON WOOHOOO!!! Wow that's kinda crazy to say that he's 100...but wow I'm so grateful for Him and all the direction he gives us in our lives. I know prophets are directly guided by God and given revelation, I love testifying in missionary work of prophets and how they are directly called of God!
Not many things different happened this week so this email is a bit shorter, but this week flewww by!
-my first transfer is THIS WEEK WHAT?! Wow can't believe I'm already 6 weeks into the field but we know we're not staying in a trio, and I for some reason feel in my gut that im leaving so we're just gonna have to wait and see till tmrw.
-in my interview with President on Tuesday, he straight up asked me "so do you want a North American or a Latino?"...uhhh idk president whatever you're guided to do haha, pretty sure he's putting me with a Latino, and then he asked me "do u wanna go to Santo Domingo?", genuinely thought about saying 100% yes send me there plzzz that would be dope but nope haha I just said send me wherever the Lord wants me to go.
-we had a family home evening with the family we've been teaching AT PRESIDENT'S HOUSE...wasn't stressful at all. usually I'm not nervous around President but I shared my testimony for me and my comps and I swear my hands were shaking, legitamately so terrifying teaching a lesson in front of him and his wife haha. But the lesson was soooo good, we taught about families and marriage! And when we were leaving, I shook Presidents hand and he basically said "so hermana Jones are you ready to be the first North American hermana in the coast??", laughed after...haha ya funny joke president. (basically even the elders are terrified to get sent to the coast bc it's so dangerous, like people get killed there all the time and people want to kill the missionaries so ya that's fun) so that's why I was terrified when President said that he's opening a new area right on the coast and that he's thinking of sending sisters there. Fun times!
-this morning we were heading down in the elevator in our apartment complex and this couple hopped in with us and overheard us talking about skincare lol and the couple didn't say anything to us, then after we left the apartment we were walking on the sidewalk and they pulled their car up to us, and the lady goes "are you jehovahs witnesses?"(we get asked this ALL the time), after telling her what church we belong to she said, "well I heard you guys talking in the elevator and I want to learn more from you" (don't know what we said abt skincare to make her want to learn from us but COOOOL WHAT) so ya ended up getting her number which was hype!
-we have a visit with the family we've been teaching and we're gonna talk with them about setting a baptismal date so praying something happens with that. They weren't able to come to church yesterday bc of a family emergency but they called us last night and said that they have a friend that wants to start having lessons YAYAYAYA!!!! So many miracles with this family, they're incredible and I learn something from them every time we teach them.
That's all for this week! Next week I might be with a different comp in a different place, but I know the Lord always has a plan! Hope you have a great week!
