-STORYTIME:
We had the baptism set for Saturday at 5:00, so we headed to the chapel after lunch to start filling up the font cuz usually its abt 2 hours to fill. We start filling it up with cold water (because we didn’t have light from 2:00-6:00 but Mabel said she was ok with cold water) and about 5 minutes in, the water pressure dropped completely. Basically it was just dripping out water when it should have been gushing water. And this is all thanks to not having light/electricity so anyways i start panicking in my head trying to think of something to do while bishop and stake president are trying to get the old water emergency hose to work. I grabbed a bucket and went to the bathroom to fill it up with the water from the sink...but i forgot we just literally didn’t have water. Period. Nada. The elders arrived after 20 minutes of me stressing and at this point the baptism was supposed to start in 30 minutes and only had about an inch of water then Mabel (the girl getting baptized) arrived AHHHH so stressful and she had a freak out in the middle of this about her boyfriend...really scared me for a sec cuz i legitimately thought something happened with the law of chastity, almost had a heart attack but we were in the clear guys dont worry. We then pushed the baptism to 5:30 instead of 5:00 so we could keep filling it up. We found a water source in the back of the building outside and starting using that for about 5 minutes before the water pressure in that completely went out too we found another water source in the front of the building so started using that (imagine my comp and i, two elders, another teen, bishop, and stake president running through the building with buckets in our hands to start filling them up with water...it was quite hilarious) finally it the was the winning water source! We weren't able to call the members that we had moved the time to 5:30 because we didn't have electricity to call so then all the sudden the members starting showing up and stress levels went up too we ended up filling the font up to the first step WOOO success haha and started the service at 5:45. When i say she had to get baptized sitting down in the water...thats not a joke. She literally sat on the ground in the freezing water and go "dunked" laying down if that makes sense haha. (picture in my photos) basically the most eventful, stressful, relieving, miracle baptism EVER! The most important thing is that she got baptized!!!!!! All the rest of the story is just funny little details that happened to help a child of god make a covenant with God. So so amazing!!!
